One day people everywhere will realize that a dog can die when it is left in the car on even a 70-degree day. Even if the windows are rolled all the way down, the temperature inside a car can reach temperatures of over 116 degrees! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that those temperatures can kill a dog!

In Sacramento, California, it was 91 degrees when the firefighters arrived at the mall after getting called about seeing a dog in a car. The car wasn’t even parked in the shade (which really doesn’t help all that much anyway). The firefighters used their thermal imaging camera and found the temperature in the car was a blistering 160-degrees.

The dog was rescued, and the owners were given a citation by mall security. Part of the punishment should be for the owners to spend sit in the car on a hot day. Share away, people.
